Red Hill General Store is proud to mark its 25th anniversary: a quarter-century of serving Southwest Virginia and beyond with trusted goods, heartfelt service, and a spirit of innovation rooted in community.
To honor this milestone, Red Hill General Store will host a celebration on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 9 AM to 6 PM, featuring:
Free hot dogs, chips, and drinks from 11 AM to 2 PM, or until all 500 hot dogs are given away.
The Bobby Thompson Band, live on the front porch from 12 PM to 2 PM.

Founded in 2000 by a few determined individuals working out of a garage on Snake Creek Road, Red Hill General Store began as a humble dream: to revive the quality and simplicity of old-time community hardware stores.
The company took its first digital leap on January 2, 2000, registering RedHillGeneralStore.com as one of the earliest online destinations for hard-to-find practical goods. Over the years, the business expanded into multiple specialty websites, offering everything from canning supplies and cast-iron cookware to nostalgic home goods and DIY essentials.
In 2009, Red Hill General Store opened its brick-and-mortar retail location in Hillsville, Virginia, quickly becoming a go-to destination in the Blue Ridge for locals and visitors alike. Known for its friendly staff, unparalleled customer service, fair prices, and carefully curated selection, the store has maintained a commitment to sustainable practices, local sourcing, and genuine community engagement.

As a giant corporate big-box store prepares to move into town, Red Hill General Store stands proudly as a reminder of what real community looks like. This isn't a store that popped up in 30 days with a multimillion-dollar budget-it's a place built by hands: our hands, our employees' hands, and the hands of a community that believed in something better.

Our Store Location and Hours
Red Hill General Store is located at 1035 Sylvatus Hwy, Hillsville, VA 24343. We are an easy drive from Interstates I-77 and I-81 and a very scenic drive from North Carolina or the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Our store is open 9am to 6pm Monday-Saturday and 12pm to 5pm on Sunday.
